What this website collects
The site has no forms or accounts, and you cannot post comments. It loads its fonts and almost all of its images from its own domain. It loads Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies.
Cloudflare hosts the site. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Videos and images from other services
Some articles embed videos from YouTube and Vimeo. We use the privacy-enhanced mode of YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) and the “do not track” setting of Vimeo. When your browser loads one of these videos, YouTube or Vimeo receives your IP address and browser details. Two older articles show images from Imgur, which also receives these details.
Comments in old articles
Old articles show the comments that readers posted from 2016 to 2021: the name that the reader gave, the date and the text. We keep them because they are part of the articles. We do not have the email addresses or IP addresses of the people who wrote them. To have your comment removed, email support@createandcode.com with the article and the name that you used.
Google Analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages people read. Google Analytics records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and advertising signals stay off.
Our legal basis is your consent. If you reject, or make no choice, Google Analytics does not load. Google Ireland Limited provides Google Analytics to us. Google can process data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
